ABOUT JESSICA SANCHEZ

As an Atlanta native, I have watched the film industry grow into what it is today. Before films, I worked crew in theatre from the age of 17. My love for the stage pushed me to seek a BA in Theatre / Film at UGA. I began working after classes as a carpenter in the University scene shop and was quickly promoted to Props Master the following year. I dabbled in many theatre crafts, but ended my schooling as a Stage Manager. After accumulating an extensive resume, I was offered a set design fellowship at the Woolley Mammoth Theatre in DC. However, hearing news of the 2010 incentives, I turned it down for a career in film. That gamble gave me a foot in the door ahead of ”the surge”, mainly in Props and Set Dec. Now, you can find me in the Art Department as a Graphic Designer, at home in the whirlwind of creation. If you’ve worked with me in my Graphic Design era, you know that I am willing and able to draw upon all of my past experience in both Theatre and Film. My time in construction, props, set dec, etc, all lend insight for me to do my job well and inspire trust from the crew. I always have their backs. I pride myself on my ability to converse with other departments from a deep understanding of our mutual crafts. Having worked my way up through Indies and Set PA jobs, I have gained insight that is rarely seen today. Though I am still considered young at 37, I count myself eternally lucky to have stumbled upon my passion at an early age. I have twenty years of skill under my belt and hopefully many more ahead of me.
